The older you get, the better you get unless you are the current President of the United States in which case, most everyone I know is NOT in a patriotic or celebratory mood for the 250 anniversary of the United States.

I don’t know anyone who is interested in celebrating this anniversary; perhaps it’s due to living in the DMV. I’m more excited about the FIFA World Cup.

#2 is indeed sobering, Adrienne. I had a couple of cartoons featuring the current President, but I felt even an image or suggestion of him would contaminate this website.
I’ve been saving cartoon #3 for at least a year just for this occasion. It’s from the New Yorker and came out when the current President first attempted to override habeus corpus. 😡

I am not feeling “patriotic.” Did everyone who receives it get an email from Social Seurity today, crediting Donald Trump for all our benefits. Paul replied to it calling it absolute “pandering.”
I’m so grateful that none of my closest neighbors have their yards covered in tiny flags. Many folks in our neighborhood do though. Sigh.
I didn’t get that email yesterday, but about a year ago, I got one from Social Security singing the praises of “Our” Great Leader.
Adrienne and I are also thankful to have neighbors who believe that July 4 should celebrate independence for ALL.
