Spit in His Face

“In a rich man’s house, there is no place to spit but his face,” believed the Greek philosopher Diogenes. Dear Readers, I can no longer hold back — I must spit in the face of the current occupant of the Oval Office. I just can’t take his crapola without some sort of outlet, or I am going to explode. So today, I’m introducing a new Spark and Spitfire category/outlet: SPITTLE.

This past Monday, former President George W. Bush graciously addressed a group of immigrants at a naturalization ceremony at his Presidential Center in Dallas.

In his remarks, Bush said:

So many of us can draw a line somewhere back to a man or woman who had the idea that life could be better – and that hope led them here. Generations of new arrivals left their mark on our national character, in traits that friends abroad still recognize as distinctly American: our optimism, our independence and openness to the new, our willingness to strive and to risk, our sense of life as an adventure, dignified by personal freedom and personal responsibility. Such qualities don’t come out of nowhere. A spirit of self-reliance runs deep in our immigrant heritage, along with the humility and kindness to look at someone less fortunate and see yourself . . . . may we never forget that immigration is a blessing and a strength.

Let’s compare Bush’s humble comments with past comments about immigrants made by the current occupant of the Oval Office.

When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best — they’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

I, [name of current occupant of Oval Office], am calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.

Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life. If I win the election for President, we are going to Make America Great Again.

We love you [Muslims], we want to work with you, we want you to turn in the bad ones, we want you to practice vigilance, we know that if you know a lot, in many cases, we want you to turn in the bad ones. We all want to get along. We want to get back to a normal, peaceful life.

Why are we having all these people from shit hole countries come here? Why do we need more Haitians? Take them out.

Laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that.

I don’t have a racist bone in my body. The fact that I want a strong border and the fact that I don’t want illegal immigrants pouring into this country, that doesn’t make me a racist, it means I love this country and I want to save this country.

I, Sharon J. Anderson, SPIT ON YOU, CURRENT OCCUPANT OF THE OVAL OFFICE. I SPIT ON YOU!

For your convenience, I am providing a spittoon below. Pretend the image of the current occupant of the Oval Office is on the outside.

  • Sorry, my dear readers, if I have taken a page from the tweet-vomiting book of the current occupant of the Oval Office. I have tried mightily to avoid reacting to this mendacious man-child’s tweets, statements, policies, boasts, lies, sins — but seriously, I need an outlet. I spend most of my days alone, and yes, I sit in silence and pray for the idiot, but lately, I’m mostly praying for the country and its citizens.

I am weary of holding back from spitting at the television, the Washington Post, the New York Times, the New Yorker, Atlantic magazine, posts from high school friends on Facebook, anything that says, “Tweet” or “Twitter,” blah, blah, blah. I am tired of taking the high road. There is not enough poetry in my home to overcome the diabolical hypocrisy embodied in the current occupant of the Oval Office.

And if you haven’t yet figured it out, I REFUSE TO PLACE HIS NAME IN PRINT ON THIS BLOG.

  • The quotes above in this post, as you probably know, are a drop in the spittoon compared with what COOTOO (Current Occupant of The Oval Office) has said in public. Imagine what COOTOO says in private.

How do you cope? It’s a serious question.

    • You’re welcome, Kelly.

This is just MY spittoon. I’m certain there are millions more around the United States. The Midwest, for example, is experiencing historic flooding right now . . .

  • Perhaps some of you don’t know about the Twitter Clash of the Titans between COOTOO and George Conway, Kellyanne Conway’s spouse. COOTOO tweeted this one hour ago:

“George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success & angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted. I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!”

Let us pause for a moment. This is the President of the United States entangling himself in a marriage. George Conway’s tweet in response to this latest COOTOO tweet about him was simple:

    “You. Are. Nuts.”

Three spits into the spittoon for George!

  • Oh my, time must indeed heal all wounds, for here in this post former President Bush appears as the “hero,” whereas clearly he was the villain in posts of old. I seriously pray that there is no-one worse in our future that will allow the current POTUS to look “good” one day.

It is good not to speak his name, but I advocate for not using his image either. Exactly what he wants is visibility and I prefer to deny it. My response in answer to your question, “How do you cope?” is that I limit my exposure to media. Even limiting it, I get more than enough exposure. I have read some of the books about this administration, an epic tragedy. Mostly, it seems my best defense is to stage a protest by withdrawing my attention from him and focusing on the leaders of the present who CAN make a difference and the leaders of the future who WILL make a difference.

    • Sound advice and strategy, Beth. You’ve always been a role model for me in terms of dealing with government b.s. Thank you. COOTOO’s image will never again appear in Spark and Spitfire.

Also, I think you were referring to a former blog of mine that minced no words regarding the treachery of former President George W. Bush. I’ve not taken him to task in this blog, but like you said, who woulda thunk that W. would look so good now compared to COOTOO?

  • At this point, I’m just oh-so-weary of it all, I find it hard even to pray. I have begun to wonder if this COOTOO may be possessed. Yes, demon-possessed, and if what our we need is an exorcism. I try, very hard, to peek into the minds of those who support him, but I’m met with a blank wall every time I try. God, please, please STOP HIM! And I try to add, though I admit not wholeheartedly, please heal this monster, for the sake of our nation, our world, and yes, for the sake of COOTOO himself.

    • Carol — you are perhaps the most gentle and forgiving soul in my life. That COOTOO can cause this kind of turmoil in your gentle and forgiving soul is testament to how demon-possessed he is. Keep praying, “Please STOP HIM!”

I shall spit in the spittoon on your behalf.

  • Sorry to be late to this blog. I like the idea of not naming him, or for that matter even paying attention to him since that seems to fuel his fire. An on-coming huge black funnel can be mesmerizing. I have heard from various people I trust that in fact we have now an unprecedented opportunity for stepping into higher consciousness and growth and goodness which is where I prefer to focus. No small feat.

    • No apology necessary, Charlotte. Always grateful when a beloved takes a peek at my ruminations which in this post were more in the category of bitching.

I don’t know if you’ll ever see this comment, but I’m very curious about the connection you see between COOTOO and an “unprecedented opportunity for stepping into higher consciousness and growth and goodness.” Do you mean that stepping into this is so much easier because COOTOO is so opposite of that?
