Ignite — 2/3/23

Hemingway believed that no man is lost at sea. Well, these cartoons beg to differ . . .

  • We all need a laugh today. I do, anyway.

Adrienne introduced me to the “Gilmore Girls” early on in our relationship. I had never watched it, and yes, it does feature “witty yet poignant repartee,” primarily between a mother and a daughter. The reference is so out of the blue. Also, is the inhabitant on the right holding a TV remote or a banana “functioning” as a TV remote?

I like the second cartoon because the dog just comes in from out of the blue and the inhabitants of the island aren’t commenting on the dog’s mysterious appearance, but rather, arguing about keeping it.

However, I can’t decide which is my favorite between the third and fourth cartoons. The third sounds like a note I would write to a desperate person. But I guess if someone put a kazoo to my head, I’d go with the fourth one. Notice the baseball bat?

  • I am a former English teacher–I go with number 3!! Thanks for the laughs. All good. All funny.

  • Without laughter, you would probably be in the Wyoming Legislature! Thanks for the laughs! I needed them all!

    • With the Wyoming Legislature, you have the patience of . . . I don’t know what, anymore, Beth.

Your work with these buttheads takes stamina that is beyond my comprehension.
