#4 made me laugh out loud. I’ve had my share of unfortunate wedding party dresses. The worst was what my friend Mary and I called our Little Bo Peep dresses – white with pink ribbons. All we needed were the crooks and sheep.
I’m just so tired of the chaos and uproar. I know I can’t check it but ugh.
#4 made me laugh out loud, too, Neola, though I’ve never been a bridesmaid. It’s hard enough to get me into a dress let alone a Little Bo Peep dress. To quote you, “ugh,” even though you are referring to the chaos and uproar we are enduring on a regular basis. I’m worried that we’ve become inured to it, i.e., killing suspected drug runners in “international waters” isn’t as bad as demolishing the East Wing of the White House, right? We have barely recovered from one law-breaking atrocity when we’re hit with another. I fear losing my outrage.
Humor continues to keep me from staying in bed all day.
It took me awhile to notice the tiny gun in cartoon #2. And cartoon #3 reminded of ANOTHER New Yorker cartoon of a man talking on an elevator emergency phone to report a power outage. The only other person in the elevator is holding a banjo. The caption is what the man is saying to the emergency phone operator:
“Wait, it gets worse.”
All four are funny. But, yes, I’m with Neola, No. 4 made me laugh out loud too. I’ve been in too many wedding parties to select one bad dress.
No. 3 is a close second.
